Bunk & Biscuit in Niles, Michigan can answer your boarding and questions about our daycare services. Read below, and if you still have further questions call (269) 684-2865.
Your first step is always to call our office (269-684-2865) to check availability for whichever service you would like to use. Before bringing your pet to our facility, an information packet must be filled out completely. You can find one online on the home page of this website or you may pick one up in the office. This packet is quite lengthy but very important for us to provide the best possible care for your pet. We also need a copy of your pet’s vaccines showing current Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella dates before bringing your pet into the facility.
Quite frankly, we just need your dog! Bunk & Biscuit is an all-inclusive resort. We provide over 20 different brands of dog food at no additional cost. (If your pet is on a special diet, please bring that food with him/her.) We have bedding for every dog, toys (both stuffed and indestructible depending on your dog’s needs), treats, bowls (raised feeders and slow feeders also) and even jackets or sweaters for the wintertime. We also have leads, leashes, collars, and harnesses for dogs going on nature walks or moving from one building to another.
Our boarding friends go outside every 2 hours for potty breaks beginning at 7 am and ending at 9 pm each and every day (even Christmas)! They also get three separate playtimes lasting approximately an hour each (depending on the weather and the dog’s preference). Dogs rule at Bunk and Biscuit. We schedule our days around making them as happy as possible!
All of our playgroups are separated by size and temperament. Small dogs will play with dogs of the same size and temperament. There are a few larger dogs who do best with small dogs and vice versa. We would never place a dog in a group where they would be in any type of danger. Safety is our top priority.
We prefer all boarding dogs are picked up by 12 pm the day of departure just like a hotel. You are welcome to pick up as late as 6 pm Monday through Friday, but you will be charged for the day if a dog is picked up after 3 pm. Saturdays we are open from 7 am to 12 pm for pick up. On Sundays, we are open from 4 pm to 6 pm for pick-up. You are always charged for Sunday.
No. We do not allow in-season female dogs in our facility.
We will absolutely administer any kind of medication needed including insulin shots. There is no additional charge for this. Pills, vitamins or supplements must be in their original labeled bottles. Please do not put pills of any kind in with their bags of food.
When boarding at Bunk and Biscuit, your dog gets a lot of exercise! Even the couch potatoes go outside every two hours and participate in 3 separate hours long “playtimes” as well (weather permitting). Quite frankly, many dogs just aren’t used to this. Their paws may not be used to the different surfaces throughout our play yards. Their muscles may be sore, and they will be mentally tired as well. The more your dog visits, the more their body becomes accustomed to this.
Yes. All credit and debit card transactions are automatically charged a 3% processing fee.

No. Every dog takes a “spot” in a group and requires the same amount of care whether they are siblings or not.
All male dogs over the age of 6 months must be neutered to participate in traditional daycare. Full male dogs are always welcome in our TLC daycare. Unaltered females are welcome in any daycare, however females in heat are not welcome at any location. (Unaltered males and females will never be in the same play group)
Absolutely. We allow any and all breeds at Bunk and Biscuit. Each dog is evaluated the same way for group play.
We certainly ask that you try your best to pick up your dog by 6 pm. However, if a late pick up is absolutely necessary, we will allow it up to 8pm as long as your day has been prepaid. Please be sure to let us know ahead of time so arrangements can be made. The daycare techs are never in the building later than 6-7pm so later pick up dogs will be moved to our boarding kennels.
All of our techs are trained in dog body language and behavior upon being hired into our facility. Our techs are certified in dog evaluations and off-leash dog play through the Dog Gurus. We continually educate employees at monthly staff meetings through the teaching of the Dog Gurus and other industry leaders.
Quite simply, they tell us! We separate dogs by size, temperament and play style. All of our techs are trained in dog body language and dog evaluations. We can watch a dog’s initial reactions to our facility, staff, and surrounding dogs and know pretty quickly where they will feel most comfortable. As a new dog opens up throughout the day and in future visits, sometimes they change to different groups. We allow the dogs into the groups they feel the most comfortable and where they will be safest.
The dogs at Bunk and Biscuit get a lot of exercise, both of the body and of the mind. Their paws may not be used to the surfaces in the play runs that are quite different than the carpet and grass they’re probably used to at home. We also work on positive reinforcement and manners with our dogs all throughout the day, so they are just as mentally tired as they are physically tired when they go home. The more a dog visits, their body adjusts to the new activity.
